DO YOU SHIP?
For the safety of our puppies we do not ship. If you are unable to make the drive to our house, we are happy to meet you at the Oklahoma City airport with your puppy. We have had many Whiskey Creek Corgis families fly in to pick up their puppy and find that Southwest Airlines is quite easy to work with.
WILL MY PUPPY CRY ON THE FLIGHT/TRIP HOME?
We do our best to accustom each puppy to their travel crates before they go home with you. We feel that teaching your puppy to be comfortable being apart from their litter mates and being confined in a crate will help reduce their stress while traveling and transitioning to their new homes. We begin this training as soon as the puppies start to eat solid food. At that point, the puppies will take their meals in a crate three times per day. As the puppies become comfortable, we increase the time that they spend resting in their crates. We’ve received excellent feedback from puppy families that have flown from across the country to pick up their babies. If you will be flying your puppy in-cabin with you, we ask that you have their travel crates delivered to us at least 10 days before your flight.
WILL MY PUPPY BE POTTY TRAINED WHEN I PICK IT UP?
No! Your puppy is still an infant at eight weeks old. They simply cannot hold their bladder or bowels for an extended period of time. We will begin litter box training with your puppy. Litter box training provides your puppy with a potty area as they transition to being house trained. Corgis are exceptionally smart and, when kept on a workable schedule, are quite easy to house train. The litter box will allow you to sleep through the night (or go to work) without having to worry about an accident should you choose to use it.
WHAT SUPPLIES WILL I NEED?
I will send you a comprehensive list of supplies that we recommend for your puppy when the puppies are approximately four weeks old.
HOW DO I PAY FOR MY PUPPY?
We require a $250 deposit to hold your puppy. All deposits are NONREFUNDABLE. Deposits must be made via the Cash App or Apple Pay. These apps allows your payment information to remain private and you may pay with debit or credit card. The remaining balance of your puppy’s purchase price will be due IN CASH when you pick your puppy up. We are not a retail store front and cannot accept credit/debit cards or checks when your puppy goes home with you.
People often ask why we do not take PayPal. Payment for live animals is prohibited on PayPal. We use our PayPal account to purchase many of our farm supplies and we would not want to be banned by violating their policies.
MAY I COME TO YOUR HOUSE TO PICK MY PUPPY UP?
Going forward we will no longer allow people to come to our home. We have always allowed this in the past but recently had an incident that concerned us. For the health and physical safety of our animals (as well as our own personal safety), we will no longer allow visitors at the farm. We do hope you understand.
How will you know that we aren’t a puppy mill? No problem! We will send you videos of your puppy and their living conditions. We have many happy puppy families that have come to our home. We are happy to provide you with references. In fact, we will invite you to join our Whiskey Creek Corgis Facebook group if you purchase one of our puppies. You will be able to reach out to previous puppy families if you would like to verify who we are and how our dogs live. Additionally, I post videos on our Facebook group and to YouTube of the dogs doing doggy things around our house.
